Scott was passionate about giving back, about showing gratitude and appreciation for his second chance at life and he was very clear on how he would do that.
He spent many hours giving presentations and speeches to raise both awareness and funds for associations like the Kidney Foundation and the Lung Association that committed resources to organ donation. He also served as Chair of the Organ Donor Awareness Committee for The Kidney Foundation of Canada.
He organized fundraisers, gave media interviews, all in the cause of organ donation. He would speak to the health care professionals who had the daunting task of asking families to donate their loved ones organs at the most crucial time of their loved one’s passing. He gave presentations of courage to other transplant recipients and to those awaiting transplant.
Scott never forgot the many who were a part of his story of courage and appreciation.
